Job summary

PK Education is recruiting a Communication Support Teaching Assistant in Wakefield for a September 2026 start. The role focuses on supporting pupils with speech, language and communication needs to build confidence, interaction and independence.

You will work within SEND settings, applying visual communication strategies and autism-friendly approaches to small groups. Ideal candidates include SEND TA or nursery practitioner backgrounds, with exposure to SALT and autism support.

Qualifications

• Experience working with SEND pupils.
• Experience with autism support.
• Exposure to speech and language therapy approaches (SALT).
• Nursery practitioner background is a plus.
