Job summary

Castles & Coasts Housing Association (CCHA) is seeking several full time Estates Services Operatives / Communal Cleaners (40 hours per week) on a permanent basis, based from Workington, Cumbria. You will join a professional team delivering efficient communal maintenance and safety services across housing estates.

The role requires a current full driving license and prior outdoor-based teamwork experience; you will handle emergency requests and record job outputs for each task.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary conduit for communal maintenance, safety and clearance work in residents' homes.
• Support Empty Homes teams to bring homes back to lettable standard after tenancy ends.
• Maintain a first-time fix attitude to ensure residents have a safe home.

Castles & Coasts Housing Association (CCHA) is currently looking to recruit several full time Estates Services Operatives / Communal Cleaners (40 hours per week), on a permanent basis, working across Cumbria, based from our Workington office.

The impact you will have as an Operative:

As an estates team operative, you will be part of a professional and customer focused team and will have responsibility for providing an efficient and effective service to all our customers.

You will be carrying out works that take place in communal areas of all of the grounds and estates managed by CCHA. This could be ensuring that they are safe, tidy and clean for every-day use, it could be ensuring the communal areas have adequate health and safety checks, it could be doing the fire and smoke alarm tests to ensure peoples homes are safe.

What you’ll be doing:

You’ll be the primary conduit for any communal maintenance, safety and clearance work in residents' homes.

You may at times be called upon to help the Empty Homes teams in ensuring once someone’s tenancy has ended the homes are brought back up to a lettable standard.

We strive to have a first-time fix attitude, with keeping the ideal of everyone having a safe home.

A little about you:

• We’re looking for someone who has experience of working in an outdoors communal based setting, ideally with some exposure to properties with residents’ living in the homes that you work in.
• You must have a current, valid full driving license.
• You must have experience of working in an outdoor based role specifically as part of a team.
• Someone who is able to respond positively to emergency job requests.
• You should be confident working independently, self-managing tasks on each job and able to record the outputs of your work upon completion of each job.
• It would be advantageous if you have any experience or exposure to a social housing setting.
