Job summary

Castleton Commodities International is launching a two-year rotational programme designed to propel recent graduates into a career of Physical and Financial commodity trading, with a strong focus on risk management and cutting-edge technology.

Analysts participate in onboarding sessions before joining their first desk for a 6-month rotation, which can be on a Physical or Financial Trading desk, our Risk team, or our Weather team.

Qualifications

• Pursuing Bachelors or Masters in Mathematics, Engineering, Finance, Statistics, Business, Economics, Energy, CS, or Physics.
• Expected graduation Spring/Summer 2027.
• Prior internship/exposure to commodities markets or financial institutions is preferred.
• Excellent analytical and technical skills in Python, R, Matlab, C++, VBA, Excel, and SQL.
• Superior communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Team-oriented with collaborative mindset.

Responsibilities

• Analyse markets to identify trading opportunities, analysing and understanding risks.
• Design and develop models to analyse economic data, market fundamentals and forecast prices.
• Perform research and statistical studies of identified risk factors.
• Identify market pricing trends and discontinuity.
• Design and formulate trade ideas and execute with rigorous risk management control; back-test strategies prior to production.
• Review research reports and articles on energy market developments.
• Build close connection with external consultancies and internal research teams.
