Job summary

Walsall Council is seeking a Commissioning Officer to join our Live Well team. The post focuses on commissioning, development, monitoring and quality assurance of Supported Living and Residential Care for adults, with an emphasis on Mental Health and Learning Disabilities across the borough.

Working with operational colleagues, providers and health partners, the role will support commissioning activities, project development and pilots to shape future service delivery and ensure value for money

Qualifications

• Experience in commissioning health and social care or public sector procurement is desirable.

Commissioning Officer - Live Well

This Commissioning Support Officer role will focus on supporting the commissioning, development, monitoring and quality assurance of Supported Living and Residential Care services for adults, with a particular focus on Mental Health and Learning Disabilities across Walsall. The post will contribute to the delivery of commissioning priorities and support the design and implementation of service improvement initiatives that promote independence, wellbeing, choice and positive outcomes for local people.

Working collaboratively with operational colleagues, providers, health partners and other stakeholders, the role will support a range of commissioning activities, development projects and pilot programmes. These initiatives will help to shape future service delivery models and inform the Council's long-term strategic approach to Supported Living, Residential Care, Mental Health and Learning Disability provision. The post holder will also support contract monitoring, provider engagement, data analysis and performance reporting to ensure services are high quality, person-centred, deliver value for money and meet the changing needs of Walsall residents.

We are keen to work with Providers but need a team that is able to build effective working relationships with Providers so we can transform services in line with our commissioning intentions.

The role will focus on ensuring commissioning activity follows good practice, using data and information to inform decisions and engaging with providers and people with lived experience around the options we have.
