Job summary

Worcestershire County Council is seeking a Commissioning and Market Support Officer to join the Adult Social Care Commissioners in Worcester. The role focuses on market intelligence, performance information and stakeholder engagement to support commissioning priorities.

You will help identify trends, risks and opportunities, support reporting and governance, and contribute to data-driven improvements in the care market. 35 hours per week, permanent, Scale 6.

Qualifications

• Experience in commissioning, project support, health, social care or local government.
• Excellent analytical skills with ability to interpret and present information clearly.
• Experience producing reports, briefings and management information.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Strong organisational skills with ability to manage competing priorities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and data reporting systems.

Responsibilities

• Support planning, development and delivery of commissioning activity across adult social care services.
• Collect, analyse and present market intelligence, financial and performance information for decision making.
• Engage with providers and stakeholders to develop a sustainable, high-quality care market.
• Produce reports, briefings and presentations to support governance and commissioning processes.
• Support development of digital solutions and data-driven approaches to strengthen market insight.
• Contribute to service improvement projects within the Commissioning Unit.
• Maintain accurate records and reporting processes for market oversight and contract monitoring.
• Assist with purchase orders, invoices and provider payment queries and contract records.
