As a Commissioning Engineer (I&C), you’ll play a vital role in ensuring the safe and effective integration of complex instrumentation and control systems. Working across multiple locations including Bridgwater, Bristol, and supplier sites, you’ll be part of a multidisciplinary team delivering one of the most complex infrastructure projects in the UK. Your work will help ensure the plant is ready for operation, meeting rigorous safety and performance standards.

We’re talking about everything from enhanced parental leave to electric vehicle leasing, health insurance to product discounts, critical illness insurance to technology vouchers, gym membership to season ticket loans.

At EDF UK, we embrace flexibility while recognising that everyone's working needs are different. Whether you're in our office spaces, on site, or working remotely, we promote an environment that supports collaboration, connection, and comfort. No matter where you are, our priority is to make sure you feel safe, valued, and celebrated.

Here, we do right by each other and everyone’s welcome. We’re on an action-oriented journey, championing equity, diversity, and inclusion. We understand that success means different things to different people. We believe there are multiple definitions of what it means to succeed. That’s why we support you to pursue a career that’s unique to you. Because success is personal.

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll be at the forefront of commissioning some of the most advanced I&C systems ever deployed in the UK nuclear sector. These systems span multiple layers, from field-level instrumentation and controllers to server-based platforms and data interfaces, each playing a critical role in plant safety and performance.

In the early stages of your role, your focus will be onpreparation activitiessuch as documentation development and review, planning, and coordination with suppliers and internal teams. These foundational tasks are critical to ensuring a smooth transition into the hands-on commissioning phase, which will follow as systems become available.

Whether you’re preparing technical documentation, reviewing test procedures, or later overseeing supplier-led commissioning and hands-on testing, your work will directly contribute to the plant’s readiness for operation.

This is a role where your technical insight, problem-solving skills, and collaborative mindset will shine. You’ll be part of a team that values precision, innovation, and teamwork, making a real difference in the UK’s energy future.

Who You Are

You bring a degree or HNC in a relevant engineering discipline, along with solid experience in instrumentation and control. You’ve worked in complex industrial environments, ideally nuclear, and you’re comfortable adapting to new technologies and challenges.
