Siemens Energy Limited in Manchester seeks an experienced professional to join the HVDC Communications Team. You will test and verify network infrastructures, interfaces, and HMI concepts for HVDC projects in our test center, ensuring flawless functionality during commissioning worldwide.

You will collaborate with project management, system engineering, and component engineering to deliver customized solutions based on the latest HVDC innovations.

Qualificações

• A completed degree in electrical engineering, energy technology, or a comparable qualification, with the ability to read circuit diagrams and work with electrical systems and measuring instruments.
• Experience in network administration (switches, routers), basic HMI, and PC administration, including hardware and virtualization, along with foundational knowledge of network protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, RADIUS), network security, and monitoring.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical information clearly and precisely.
• Willingness to travel worldwide for business trips and take on long-term site assignments in Germany or abroad, including optional offshore deployments (> 1 year).
• A collaborative, proactive working style with strong decision-making abilities and positive conflict-management skills; skilled electrician qualification is a plus.

Responsabilidades

• Responsible for the technically flawless, on-time, and economical execution of HVDC system commissioning at construction sites worldwide, focusing on data networks and individual components of network communication at the SCADA level.
• Accountable for commissioning, supporting, and managing the predominantly TCP/IP-based network infrastructure, the HMI concept, and any project-specific adaptations.
• Ensure time synchronization and manage local and remote signal converters, ensuring reliable interfaces with all other involved signal providers.
• Provide support to other commissioning teams, customers, and external partners in troubleshooting and testing communication interfaces.
• Contribute to improvement programs, including Lean initiatives, reviews, and lessons learned, while supporting IBS management in quality, risk, and claim management.
