Job summary

Next Ventures is seeking an Automation Engineer focused on Commissioning to support a Data Center project in Cardiff, UK. This on-site role requires hands-on testing and commissioning across electrical, IT and HVAC interfaces.

You will work with senior engineers to troubleshoot PLC and HMI applications, coordinate milestones with MEP, IT and Construction teams, and contribute to live pre-testing activities in a mission-critical environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in Industrial Automation with a focus on Commissioning.
• Exposure to mission-critical environments, preferably a Data Center.
• Experience with Rockwell SCADA systems.
• Degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical).

Responsibilities

• Support Commissioning and testing of the DC site.
• Assist in troubleshooting PLC, SCADA, network and other control system issues during incidents under guidance of senior engineers.
• Coordinate milestones across MEP, IT and Construction to allow time for pre-testing and commissioning.
• Develop and deploy PLC and HMI applications for control system projects with supervision.
• Perform basic PLC and HMI updates and testing in live or staging environments.

Commissioning Engineer - Cardiff onsite - 3 months+

For a global Data Center customer we are looking for an Automation Engineer with a focus on Commissioning to support their project in Cardiff, UK.

You will need to be on site 4-5 days per week to support with Commissioning and Testing.

The Role

• Support Commissioning and testing of the DC site
• Assist in troubleshooting PLC, SCADA, network, and other control system issues during incidents under the guidance of senior engineers
• Support the coordination of milestones across MEP, IT, and Construction teams to help ensure adequate time for system pre-testing and commissioning
• Contribute to the development and deployment of PLC and HMI applications for control system projects with supervision < li>Perform basic PLC and HMI application updates and testing in live or staging environments following established procedures li> < li>Support remediation activities and routine maintenance tasks related to the Building Automation System in collaboration with Site Operations li>

Your Experience

• Over 3 years Industrial Automation experience with a focus on Commissioning
• Exposure to mission cirtical environments, preferably a Data Center
• Experience with Rockwell SCADA systems
• Degree in Engineering, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
