Job summary

Owen Daniels is seeking an experienced Commissioning Engineer to lead electrical and control system commissioning on varied projects across the UK. You will take ownership from installation through to handover, conducting site testing, fault-finding and documenting the commissioning process.

The role involves reading electrical drawings, supporting installation teams and delivering high-quality technical support to customers while ensuring safety and compliance on-site.

Qualifications

• Electrical engineer with commissioning experience and strong fault-finding skills.
• Ability to read electrical drawings and schematics and work from technical documentation.
• Experience on customer sites with testing and commissioning of electrical/control systems.

Responsibilities

• Commission and test electrical and control systems on customer sites.
• Perform fault-finding, diagnostics and troubleshooting.

A specialist engineering business in South Wales is looking to appoint an experienced Commissioning Engineer to join their growing team.

The company works across power generation, electrical systems and controls, delivering technically complex projects for a range of industrial and commercial customers.

This is an excellent opportunity for an electrical engineer with commissioning experience who wants to work on varied projects, develop your technical expertise and take ownership of commissioning activities from installation through to successful handover.

As a Commissioning Engineer, you will be responsible for:

• Commissioning and testing electrical and control systems on customer sites
• Carrying out fault-finding, diagnostics and troubleshooting
• Testing control panels and associated electrical equipment
• Working from electrical drawings, schematics and technical documentation
• Supporting installation and project teams throughout the commissioning process
• Identifying and resolving technical issues on site
• Carrying out functional and operational testing
• Producing commissioning reports and relevant documentation
• Working closely with customers and providing technical support
• Ensuring all work is completed safely and in line with relevant standards

We’re looking for an experienced electrical engineer with a strong commissioning background.

Experience within one or more of the following areas would be beneficial:

• Industrial electrical systems
• Control systems
• CHP
• PLCs and automation
• Switchgear and control panels
• Electrical installation and commissioning

You should be confident reading electrical schematics and have strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.

The role will suit someone who is comfortable working independently on customer sites, communicating directly with clients and taking ownership of technical issues through to resolution.
