Job summary

Penguin Random House Audio is seeking a Commissioning Editor, Audio on a 7-month fixed-term contract to lead commissioning and delivery of major frontlist audiobooks. You will work with authors, narrators, agents and production partners to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery and to contribute to ambitious acquisitions.

You will collaborate with editorial teams across PRH and the wider publishing business, balancing creative ambition with commercial considerations while maintaining high standards

Qualifications

• Experience editorial or commissioning within audiobooks, audio, or publishing.
• Strong editorial judgement for casting and production decisions.
• Ability to manage budgets and schedules across multiple titles.
• Excellent communication and relationships with internal/external partners.

Responsibilities

• Lead commissioning and delivery of major frontlist audio publications from acquisition to publication.
• Make casting and production decisions with authors and partners to deliver high-quality audiobooks.
• Represent Audio in acquisitions discussions with strong editorial and commercial judgment.
• Identify new publishing opportunities and build relationships across PRH Audio and the wider publishing business.
• Collaborate with Audio team across marketing, operations, sales and production to deliver integrated publishing.
