Job summary

Mercure Manchester Norton Grange Hotel and Spa in Manchester is seeking a Commis Chef to help prepare meal ingredients for the Chef de Partie and assist with a range of kitchen tasks. You will ensure ingredients are prepared and stored correctly while maintaining kitchen safety standards.

Key duties include measuring ingredients, receiving deliveries, stocking supplies, cleaning workstations and plating dishes as directed. Pay ranges from £10.85 to £12.71 per hour based on age and experience.

Responsibilities

• Accurately measuring meal ingredients for the Chef de Partie.
• Preparing meal ingredients, including seasoning meats and washing, peeling, and chopping vegetables and fruits.
• Preparing basic salads and sauces as directed by the Chef de Partie.
• Receiving deliveries and verifying items delivered are correct and of good quality.
• Taking inventory of restaurant supplies and notifying supervisor of low supplies.
• Discarding expired and spoiled food items from stock rooms and fridges.
• Performing basic cleaning and sanitizing workstations.
• Plating and presenting meals as instructed by the Chef de Partie.
