Job summary

The Lensbury is recruiting a Kitchen Assistant to support the busy hotel kitchen. You will help with food preparation, cooking and assembling elements of dishes, and ensure safe, clean and well-ordered work areas. This role offers training and development opportunities within a reputable leisure and hospitality venue.

Qualifications

• Food Safety Level 2 required.
• Interest and experience in food preparation.
• Keen to develop skills within the team.
• Able to work under pressure in a busy kitchen.
• Good spoken and written English.

Responsibilities

• Assisting in the food preparation process.
• Cooking and preparing elements of menu dishes.
• Preparing vegetables, meats and fish.
• Measuring dish ingredients and portion sizes accurately.
• Keeping the sections clean.
• Recording cooking temperatures in Alert 65 system.
• Assisting other Chefs as requested.
• Helping with deliveries and restocking.
• Assisting with stock rotation.
• Contributing to maintaining kitchen and food safety standards.
• Reporting faulty equipment to the Head Chef.
• Maintaining exceptionally high standards of cleanliness, food hygiene and health and safety.
