Courtyard by Marriott Sheffield, part of RBH Hospitality Management, is seeking a Commis Chef to join our kitchen team. You will assist senior chefs, prepare ingredients, and help maintain hygiene standards in a busy, professional kitchen.

We value enthusiasm and a willingness to learn. Previous kitchen experience is a plus, but dedication and teamwork are more important. This role offers hands-on training and opportunities to progress within a growing hotel.

Qualifications

• Genuine interest in cooking and enthusiasm for learning in a professional kitchen.
• Some previous kitchen experience is a plus, but a willingness to work hard and learn is essential.
• Understanding of basic food prep techniques and a commitment to improving your skills.
• Strong attention to detail, especially regarding cleanliness and food safety.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing ingredients for various dishes, from chopping and slicing to marinating and portioning, to ensure each station runs smoothly.
• Work alongside senior chefs in all sections, gaining hands‑on experience and refining essential cooking techniques.
• Maintain a clean, organised workstation, following hygiene and food safety standards rigorously.
• Help with kitchen inventory by preparing ingredients, monitoring stock levels, and informing chefs when supplies are low.
• Take on cooking tasks, including making sauces, grilling, frying, and assisting with plating.
