Novotel York Centre, part of the Accor group, is seeking a dedicated Commis Chef to join our kitchen team. You will assist in dish preparation, maintain mise-en-place, and uphold high food hygiene standards to ensure guest satisfaction in a busy hotel environment.

• Proven experience in a similar role.
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively.

• Strong problem-solving abilities and analytical thinking.
• Demonstrated time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of dishes in a timely fashion and to agreed standards.
• Ensure mise-en-place is available as required.
• Observe excellent food hygiene practice from storage to service.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless communication and workflow.
• Contribute ideas to improve the environment and menus.

Job Description

As our next Commis Chef you will be doing...

• Are curious about food, always willing to try new combinations and flavours
• Assist in the preparation of the dishes in a timely fashion and agreed standards.
• Ensure the availability of mise-en-place as required.
• Observe excellent food hygiene practice through the entire food chain from storage through to preparation and service.
• Actively share ideas, opinions and suggestions to improve the environment and menus
• Communicate effectively with the rest of the team and thrive for guest feedback
• Ensure compliance with food hygiene and Health and Safety standards.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless communication and workflow
• Contribute to special projects and initiatives as required
• Perform other kitchen duties as assigned.
