Job Description

As a Commis Chef, you will have a passion for delivering exceptional food to our guests. You will develop your skills across all areas of the kitchen, from food preparation to cooking and presenting. With a desire to learn, you will work closely with all members of the kitchen team to execute all menu items to a high standard and maintain cleanliness at all times.

  • Ensure compliance with food safety laws and procedures
  • Understand and implement the safer food better business protocols and HACCP policies, including food labelling, cleaning schedules, and allergen tracking
  • Food Preparation: preparing fresh ingredients for menu items, including fruits, vegetables, stocks, etc., using correct techniques to minimise wastage
  • Organizing and Cleaning: accepting deliveries, ensuring stock is stored correctly with proper rotation, labelling produce, and removing items in line with use-by and best-before dates. Working as a team to complete opening and closing cleaning tasks to a high standard. Assisting or working as a Kitchen Porter as required.
  • Ensuring proper presentation of menu items
  • Learning dish specifications and presenting starters, desserts, and sides under the supervision of the lead chef.
Qualifications
  • Experience in a kitchen environment is preferred but not essential
  • A willingness to learn culinary techniques
  • Ability to follow directions
  • Organisational skills to manage your own time

This is a casual hours position involving shifts across the operational hours of the business (06:00 – 23:00 including weekends and bank holidays). Hours may vary from week to week, with some weeks potentially offering no hours.
