About the Role:

As a Commis Chef, you’ll work alongside our experienced kitchen brigade, supporting the preparation and service of high-quality dishes across our multiple dining venues. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your culinary skills in a fast-paced, fine-dining environment, while learning from senior chefs who are passionate about quality and creativity.

You’ll gain experience in all areas of the kitchen, from mise en place and plating to supporting larger events and working with seasonal, locally sourced ingredients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support daily kitchen operations across multiple sections, including cold, hot, and preparation areas.
  • Assist in preparing and presenting high-quality dishes for our restaurants, room service, and private events.
  • Ensure ingredients are prepped, stored, and rotated correctly in line with kitchen standards.
  • Follow food hygiene and health & safety regulations with consistency and care.
  • Maintain cleanliness, organisation, and stock levels at your station.
  • Accurately record food and fridge temperatures in compliance with standards.
  • Support the creation and testing of new seasonal dishes under the guidance of senior chefs.
  • Promote a positive team spirit and contribute to a respectful, efficient kitchen culture.



Personal Specification:

  • Previous experience in a professional kitchen or catering role.
  • Level 2 Food Safety Certificate.
  • Strong understanding of food hygiene and kitchen best practices.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Enthusiastic team player with a positive, can-do attitude.
  • Willingness to learn and grow across all kitchen sections.
  • NVQ or equivalent qualification in Professional Cookery or Culinary Arts.
  • Experience in high-volume or fine dining service.
  • Good communication and organisation skills.
  • Interest in modern food trends, plating, and presentation.






Hours and Schedule:

  • Full-time : 45 hours per week
  • 5 days out of 7 , including weekends and evenings
  • Typical shifts:
  • 08:00 – 17:30
  • 13:30 – 23:00
  • Flexibility is essential to meet the needs of the business and support peak service times.
