Job summary

Upham Inns in the United Kingdom is seeking a Commis Chef to join our growing pub group. You will assist in food preparation, cook elements of dishes, prep vegetables, meats and fish, and support other chefs to maintain quality and safety standards.

We offer flexible shifts, training paths to Head Chef, staff meals, and attractive benefits including a share of Tronc up to £4,000 per year and a lifestyle card with thousands of discounts.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of all kitchen sections.
• Ability to work under supervision of a limited range.
• Ability to produce good quality basic food.
• Understanding of health and safety.
• Understanding of basic food hygiene practices.
• Good oral communication.
• Team player qualities.
• Right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Assisting in the food preparation process.
• Cooking and preparing elements of high quality dishes.
• Preparing vegetables, meats and fish.
• Assisting other Chefs.
• Helping with deliveries and restocking.
• Assisting with stock rotation.
• Cleaning stations.
• Contributing to maintaining kitchen and food safety standards.
• Comply with all Food safety, fire, Health and safety, licensing and employment laws.
