Job summary

Amberley Castle in West Sussex is seeking a Commis Chef to join a passionate kitchen team. You will assist in preparing fresh dishes, support senior chefs, and help maintain high standards across service periods.

The role suits someone with prior similar-environment experience and a desire to grow in a luxury hotel kitchen. Working as part of a cohesive team, you will help keep the kitchen clean, label foods to avoid waste, and adapt to flexible rotas.

Qualifications

• Experience in a similar environment is preferred.
• Able to work with fresh food and assist in preparation.
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation in the kitchen.
• Label foods to prevent use of out-of-date items.

Located in the picturesque village of Amberley in the beautiful West Sussex countryside, Amberley Castle is a unique luxury hotel steeped in over 900 years of history. With 4 AA red stars, 3 AA rosettes, Amberley Castle gives our team the chance to work in a castle with quality and style.

SERVICE CHARGE-We pay our team service charge each month! This service charge all goes into one pot, and 100% of that service charge is then shared amongst all the team at the hotel-every penny received is paid out to the team.

Service charge can be in the region of £300 a month (close to £3,600 per year) over and above base pay, for a full time employee.

As a Commis Chef, you will be working as part of a passionate team of chefs. You will play a crucial part the preparation of food that goes into the delicious dishes, created by our chefs for our guests to enjoy.

This role would suit someone who has worked in a similar environment previously.

• Being one team, everyone in the kitchen is responsible for keeping it clean.
