Job summary

Involve Recruitment Ltd. is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join its commercial team in Wales. You will be responsible for the commercial management of allocated projects, controlling costs, managing contractual obligations and maximising value from start to final account.

Qualifications

• Relevant Quantity Surveying experience in a main contracting environment.
• Good contractual and commercial knowledge: payment, change control, variations, subcontract administration and final accounts.
• Experience in cost management, forecasting, CVRs, procurement, measurement and valuation.
• Strong organisational, negotiation and communication skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and identify commercial risks within a project team.
• Proactive and commercially focused with a drive for positive project outcomes.
• Experience across general construction, refurbishment, fit-out, façade and cladding remediation, or occupied-building projects is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day commercial activities of allocated projects, including cost control, forecasting, reporting and risk management.
• Prepare project budgets, cost/value reconciliations (CVRs), cash-flow forecasts and monthly commercial reports.
• Review contract documentation, identify commercial risks and entitlements, and ensure contractual notices and records are maintained.
• Prepare and submit applications for payment, variations and claims for loss and expense or prolongation.
• Manage subcontract procurement and administration, including tender comparisons, orders, valuations, variations and final accounts.
• Measure, value and agree works, variations and dayworks with clients, consultants, subcontractors and suppliers.
• Work closely with operational, design and project teams to manage procurement, programme, change and commercial risk.
• Attend project, commercial and client meetings, maintaining strong working relationships with key stakeholders.
• Maintain accurate commercial records and ensure timely agreement of client and subcontract final accounts.
• Support and mentor Graduate Quantity Surveyors where required.
