Job summary

An established construction business in Westbury, Wiltshire, is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join the commercial team. You will provide day-to-day commercial and contractual support to project teams, ensuring projects stay commercially controlled and contractual requirements are met.

You will review contract conditions, manage variations, prepare cost reports, and liaise with clients and contractors.

Responsibilities

• Provide commercial and contractual support across projects.
• Review contract conditions and assist with negotiations with clients and subcontractors.
• Prepare monthly applications, interim valuations and payment applications.
• Prepare and analyse tender costings.
• Manage and value project variations, including day works and contract additions.
• Assist with monthly project cost reports, financial reviews and forecasts.
• Liaise with clients, Site Managers, Architects, Contract Managers and Site Engineers.
• Attend site and management meetings.
• Carry out site visits to monitor progress and identify commercial risks and opportunities.
• Support Contract Managers with variations and final accounts.
• Prepare and assist with the negotiation of project final accounts.
• Advise on contractual and commercial matters.
• Maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors and internal teams.
• Support the development and training of junior team members.
• Ensure compliance with company procedures, policies and Health & Safety requirements.
