Job summary

HPR TALENT LIMITED is seeking a Commercial Vehicle Technician in Plymouth, Devon. The role covers servicing and repair of light commercial vehicles with a new in-house workshop. You'll work on Ford Transits and similar vans, using Texa and Bosch gear, with a mix of experienced and newer technicians.

Experience of 5+ years, NVQ 3 in vehicle maintenance, and strong diagnostics are essential. A UK driving licence and air-con certification are a bonus.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years experience as a vehicle technician.
• NVQ Level 3 (or City & Guilds equivalent) in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair.
• Excellent diagnostics. You find the real fault and fix it properly.
• A commercial main dealer background (Ford, Peugeot, Volvo, Iveco or similar) is ideal.
• A structured, safety-first approach. You follow the procedure, do it by the book and do it right first time.
• A full UK driving licence.
• Air con certification is a bonus.

Responsibilities

Commercial Vehicle Technician

Location: Plymouth, Devon

Contract: Permanent, 45 hours per week Mon Fri (no weekends)

Salary: £45,000-£50,000 + optional overtime + company van

Our client is a well-established civil engineering and drainage specialist with decades of experience delivering major infrastructure projects across the South-West. Their fleet is growing, and so is their brand-new, in-house vehicle workshop in Plymouth. Thats created a new role for an experienced commercial vehicle technician.

Youll join a team of technicians covering both LCVs and HGVs, with a real mix of experience, from long-serving hands to newly qualified technicians. The workshop is run by managers who came up through the tools themselves. Theyre down to earth, good fun to work with and genuinely look after their people.

Youll work with state-of-the-art equipment, looking after the light commercial side of the fleet. Its a fleet youll get to know properly, not an endless queue of strangers vehicles.

The Role

About You

• At least 5 years experience as a vehicle technician. Youll be trusted to work on your own from day one.
• NVQ Level 3 (or City & Guilds equivalent) in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair.
• Excellent diagnostics. You find the real fault and fix it properly, not just enough to get the vehicle out of the door.
• A commercial main dealer background (Ford, Peugeot, Volvo, Iveco or similar) is ideal. Large in-house fleet workshops will also be considered.
• A structured, safety-first approach. You follow the procedure, do it by the book and do it right first time. Quick fixes and workarounds arent how this workshop runs.
• A full UK driving licence.
• Air con certification is a bonus.
