Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) is recruiting for a Commercial Vehicle Examiner (Enforcement) in Ashford as a permanent, shift-working role. You will inspect commercial vehicles, identify defects and determine enforcement needs, with training provided.

The job involves roadside checks, reporting, and collaboration with partner agencies to ensure safety on Britain's roads. A hands-on, technically focused position with chances to develop professional qualifications.

Qualifications

• Hands-on technical role requiring eye for detail to spot defects and problems.
• Experience in repair, maintenance or inspection of vehicles is valued.
• Full training will be provided and you will work in a public-facing enforcement environment.

Responsibilities

• Carry out roadside checks and stop unsafe vehicles from continuing their journeys.
• Prepare clear reports based on findings and present evidence when required.
• Work with partner agencies and stakeholders to support enforcement activity.
• Use technical knowledge to make decisions that support road safety.
• Analyse data to identify patterns and trends and respond to technical queries.
