DVSA seeks a Commercial Vehicle Examiner to inspect commercial vehicles, identify defects and decide enforcement actions to keep Britain's roads safe. You will conduct roadside checks, prepare reports, and may present evidence in court.

The role involves working from London-area locations, with extensive on-the-job training and potential travel between DVSA sites. A full driving licence and motor-vehicle qualifications are required.

Qualifications

• Must hold a vocational qualification in motor vehicle maintenance & repair or IMI/IRTEC/IRTEC advanced technician registration.
• Full driving licence required.
• Experience in inspection of vehicles is preferred.

Responsabilités

• Carry out roadside vehicle checks and stop unsafe vehicles.
• Prepare clear, concise reports based on findings.
• Present evidence in court when required.
• Collaborate with colleagues and partner agencies on enforcement activity.
• Use technical knowledge to support safer roads.
