Role overview & responsibilities

• Work with peers to shape and deliver the Property and Casualty proposition to market.
• Contribute to visibility in the local market, working closely with brokers to identify underserved segments and shape propositions to gain market share.
• Build strong relationships with brokers, negotiate effectively, and provide excellent customer service.
• Underwrite both new and renewal business in line with the underwriting strategy.
• Ensure documentation and underwriting files are thoroughly checked, and terms are issued accurately and promptly.

Key requirements

• Proven track record of building a portfolio of mid-market property and casualty risks, writing risks of £10k+ GWP.
• Strong ability to influence and negotiate with brokers, with excellent interpersonal skills.
• Analytical and creative thinking skills to meet underwriting needs while collaborating with brokers.
• Understanding of the needs of each underwriting line on a portfolio basis.
• Confidence, adaptability, inquisitiveness, resilience, imagination, and directness.
• Proactive and flexible approach to the role.
