Job summary

Chase Taylor Recruitment Ltd is seeking a commercially minded Commercial Surveyor to support a growing workload across Birmingham and surrounding areas. You will manage the commercial aspects of projects, liaising with authorities, housing associations and contractors to deliver window and door installations.

Ideal candidates will have experience in glazing or building products, strong cost control skills and the ability to manage multiple projects with a proactive approach.

Qualifications

• Experience surveying in glazing, fenestration or building products.
• Knowledge of aluminium and/or PVC-u window/door systems.
• Experience on refurbishment, replacement windows/doors, social housing or local authority projects.

Responsibilities

• Carry out site surveys and assess project requirements for window/door installations.
• Prepare accurate measurements, quotations, costings and commercial documentation.
• Monitor project progress and identify potential commercial risks.
• Liaise with local authorities, housing associations and main contractors.
• Support commercial management of social housing and refurbishment projects.
• Ensure works are delivered in line with specifications, contracts and budgets.
• Build and maintain relationships with clients, contractors and internal teams.

The Opportunity

We are working with a well-established specialist in the design, surveying, supply, manufacture and installation of high-quality aluminium and PVC-u window and door systems. With an extensive portfolio of projects across multiple sectors, including high-rise developments, they deliver durable, energy-efficient solutions tailored to the needs of their clients.

They are now looking to recruit a Commercial Surveyor to support their growing workload across Birmingham and the surrounding areas, with a particular focus on local authority and social housing projects.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded individual with experience in construction, glazing, fenestration or building products to join a business delivering high-quality solutions across a varied portfolio of projects.

The Role

As Commercial Surveyor, you will play a key role in managing the commercial aspects of projects.Working closely with internal teams, clients, contractors and other stakeholders, your responsibilities will include:

• Carrying out site surveys and assessing project requirements for window and door installations.
• Preparing accurate measurements, quotations, costings and commercial documentation.
• Monitoring project progress and identifying potential commercial risks.
• Liaising with local authorities, housing associations and main contractors
• Supporting the commercial management of social housing and refurbishment projects.
• Ensuring works are delivered in accordance with specifications, contractual obligations and agreed budgets.
• Building and maintaining strong working relationships with clients, contractors and internal departments.
• Identifying opportunities to improve commercial performance and project delivery.

About You

We are looking for a commercially aware and organised individual who understands the importance of accurate surveying, cost control and effective project management.

Ideally, you will have:

• Previous experience in a Commercial Surveyor, within glazing, fenestration or building products.
• Knowledge of aluminium and/or PVC-u window and door systems
• Experience working on refurbishment, replacement window and door, social housing or local authority projects.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• A proactive, practical approach to problem-solving and client management.
• A full UK driving licence and the flexibility to travel to projects across Birmingham and the surrounding areas.
