Job summary

Ernest Gordon Recruitment Limited is seeking an Estimator (Commercial Roofing) in Birmingham. The role focuses on producing detailed cost estimates, tender submissions, Bills of Quantities, and competitive pricing for commercial projects.

You will liaise with clients and supply chain, assess risks, and support the project teams during construction. Ideal candidate has experience with metal/flat roofs or envelopes, strong commercial acumen, and proficiency with estimating software and Excel.

Qualifications

Experience in metal or flat commercial roofs or specialist building envelopes.
Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings, specifications and survey reports.
Proficiency with estimating software and Excel.
Full UK driving licence.
Experience with post-Grenfell remediation projects and EWS1 assessments (preferred).

Responsibilities

Conduct pre-tender and pre-contract facade surveys to identify condition, substrate, fixings and refurbishment requirements.
Preparing Bills of Quantities, cost breakdowns, valuations, variations and final accounts.
Produce competitive tender submissions and support commercial and project teams during construction.
