Job summary

Henley Chase in Cwmbran, Wales, seeks a Quantity Surveyor/Estimator to join our growing commercial team. The role covers the full commercial lifecycle of refurbishment projects, from tender through final account, working on projects for public sector bodies, local authorities and facilities management clients.

The ideal candidate has experience in construction estimating, cost planning, procurement and commercial management, with strong negotiating and communication skills and a qualification

Qualifications

• Experience as a Quantity Surveyor, Estimator, or QS/Estimator within construction.
• Commercial refurbishment experience is highly desirable.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Experience preparing tenders, pricing works, and managing project costs.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets, and tender submissions.
• Review drawings and specs to accurately price works.
• Measure quantities and produce BOQs and tender breakdowns.
• Obtain and assess quotations from subcontractors and suppliers.
• Support procurement of subcontract packages and materials.
• Manage project costs and keep budgets on track.
• Monitor variations, valuations, and change control procedures.
• Assist with financial reporting, cost forecasting, and cash flow management.
• Support final accounts preparation and agreement.
• Collaborate with project managers and operational teams to ensure commercial success.
