Job summary

Reed is seeking a Commercial Property Solicitor / Legal Executive in Devon to manage a varied caseload under supervision and contribute to a supportive, client-focused team. The role offers exposure to both commercial and residential property matters, with opportunities for progression within a collaborative firm environment.

You will handle title reviews, leases, transfers, property searches, and SDLT forms while maintaining high standards of service and accuracy.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Manage own caseload under supervision as appropriate.
• Support team in individual transactions and broader project teams.
• Open case files, provide cost estimates to new clients, record time.
• Conduct title reviews, draft and negotiate leases and transfers.
• Obtain and report on title information from Land Registry and handle requisitions.
• Assist in managing commercial property matters and residential conveyancing.
• Obtain and report on property searches, attend meetings, take notes, prepare SDLT forms.
• Promote the firm's vision and values when interacting with clients.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge through publications and training.
• Undertake other duties as required by Partners.

They are currently seeking a highly motivated Property Solicitor or Legal Executive to join their team in Devon. Day-to-day of the role:

• Manage your own caseload under supervision, as appropriate.
• Support the team in individual transactions and as part of wider project teams.
• Handle tasks including opening case files, giving cost estimates to new clients, and recording time in accordance with the firm's policy.
• Conduct title reviews, draft and negotiate leases and transfers.
• Obtain and report on title information from the Land Registry and deal with Land Registry requisitions.
• Assist in managing both commercial property matters and residential conveyancing transactions.
• Obtain and report on property searches, attend meetings, make notes, and prepare SDLT forms.
• Promote the firm's vision and values when interacting with clients.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge through relevant publications and training.
• Undertake any other reasonable duties as required by the Partners.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Relevant qualification (qualified as a solicitor or a legal executive) or directly related work experience.
• Experience in organising workloads to achieve priorities and objectives.
• Good knowledge of property processes and procedures.
• Excellent customer service skills and a solution-focused approach to work.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop successful working relationships.
