Job summary

Lawes Consulting Group in Glasgow is seeking an experienced Commercial Property Loss Adjuster to join its regional team. You will manage a live portfolio from site survey through to negotiated settlement, working with brokers, insurers and clients to deliver fair, timely outcomes.

Commercial Property Loss Adjuster

Location: Glasgow, hybrid

Ready to take on larger, more complex commercial property losses?

I’m recruiting for a leading global loss adjusting business that wants an experienced Commercial Property Loss Adjuster to join its regional commercial property team.

When a commercial property loss happens, businesses need a fair outcome they can act on quickly. In this role you’ll investigate complex damage, work out the amount the policy and the evidence support, and bring insureds, insurers and brokers to a timely, defensible settlement. You’ll be helping businesses get their operations and cash flow back on track.

The Role

You’ll manage a live portfolio of commercial property claims from the first site survey through to negotiated settlement. You’ll work alongside experienced adjusters and forensic specialists in a global network with deep local expertise.

Key Responsibilities

• Survey and investigate commercial property losses on site, establishing cause, scope and quantum.
• Negotiate and settle a live portfolio of claims to professional standards and agreed timescales.
• Produce clear reports, reserves and proofs of loss in line with internal guidelines, data protection rules and market expectations.
• Coordinate insureds, insurers, brokers and technical specialists so claims close without avoidable rework or dispute.
• Apply coverage analysis and damage assessment to recommend settlement strategies that hold up under review.
• Build strong broker and insurer relationships that generate quality instructions and repeat business.
• Share your technical knowledge with colleagues across property, construction and engineering.

What We’re Looking For

• Proven commercial property loss adjusting experience, from site surveys through to negotiated settlement.
• A recognised adjusting or insurance qualification (e.g. ACII/ACILA), or clear progress towards one.
• A track record of accurate, timely reports that clients and insurers can act on.
• Strong negotiation, coverage analysis and stakeholder management skills.
• Willingness to travel across the assigned territory and manage competing deadlines without compromising quality.
• Sound judgement on file standards, information security and independent, fair outcomes.
