Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of buying/selling, leases, landlord and tenant law, conveyancing and due diligence.
• Experience drafting and negotiating commercial documentation and handling complex transactions.
• Confident communicator with strong drafting skills to advice clients and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Act for landlords, tenants, investors and developers on a range of commercial property transactions, including leases (grants, renewals, surrenders and assignments), sales, purchases and property investment matters.
• Draft, review and negotiate commercial leases, licences, deeds and ancillary documentation, ensuring documents reflect commercial objectives and risk is managed appropriately.
• Conduct due diligence, review title and prepare and advise on conditional contracts, warranties, indemnities and disclosure issues.
• Liaise with clients, surveyors, lenders, local authorities and other third parties to obtain information, progress matters and coordinate completions.
• Provide clear, pragmatic legal advice to clients on strategy, risk allocation and commercial implications of transactions.
