Job summary

Energy Jobline CVL is seeking a Commercial Boiler Plant Room Engineer for the London & M25 area. The role covers maintenance of commercial non-gas plant and district energy networks, including pumps, valves and plate heat exchangers.

You’ll handle PPMs, reactive calls, and project work while potentially working towards a valid commercial gas certificate. The ideal candidate has 3 years’ plant room experience, an NVQ in Gas or Plumbing, and basic electrical safety awareness.

Qualifications

• 3 years of experience as Commercial Plant Engineer or similar.
• NVQ in Gas or Plumbing.
• Knowledge of heat network energy centres and plant rooms.
• Ability to read P&IDs and mechanical schematics.
• Electrical competency (basic).
• Competent with safe isolation (mechanical and electrical).
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Complete planned preventative maintenance on pumps, actuators, plate heat exchangers, pressurisation units and degassers.
• Repair and reinstate commercial plant.
• Diagnose faults and repair commercial plant and associated pipework.
• Attend reactive call-outs to restore heat and resolve plant failures.
• Participate in on-call rota (approx. 1 in 4 weeks).
• Review root causes for plant failures and propose solutions.
• Manage site-based projects and define scopes of works for remediation.
• Keep accurate maintenance records.
