Job summary

Henley Chase, a Hertfordshire-based fit-out contractor, is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor/Commercial Manager to oversee commercial management of office fit-out projects from pre-construction to final account. You will manage budgets, procurement, valuations and final accounts while maintaining strong client and subcontractor relationships.

Qualifications

• 3+ years' experience as a Quantity Surveyor within construction or fit-out.
• Experience on office fit-out, refurbishment or commercial interiors projects.
• Strong knowledge of subcontractor procurement and package management.
• Experience managing variations, valuations and final accounts.
• Good understanding of construction contracts and commercial processes.
• Strong commercial and financial awareness.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects or packages effectively.
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
• A proactive approach and the ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Managing the commercial performance of projects.
• Preparing budgets, forecasts and cost reports.
• Procurement and management of subcontract packages.
• Preparing and agreeing valuations and applications for payment.
• Managing variations, change and commercial risk.
• Reviewing and negotiating subcontractor accounts.
• Cost control and cash-flow management.
• Preparing and agreeing final accounts.
• Working closely with Project Managers and site teams.
• Maintaining strong client and subcontractor relationships.
• Providing commercial advice throughout the project lifecycle.
