Qualifications

Founded 35 years ago, CLM Fireproofing are experts in passive fire protection and firestopping. We deliver the highest standards of service and pride ourselves on our technical skills and innovative spirit.

Following well-documented fire tragedies, the entire fire protection industry is undergoing major reform. Our clients and industry bodies are becoming increasingly upskilled in fire safety systems, compliance and regulation and, as a result, are now engaging more heavily with businesses such as CLM to ensure specialism and compliance.

We are now looking for a Commercial Manager to join us on a full-time, permanent basis.

The Role

As a Commercial Manager, you will oversee commercial opportunities through the sales process and the subsequent project lifecycle to ensure maximum commercial success.

You will work closely with internal teams to drive projects forward, ensure compliance, and deliver exceptional value for our clients, while continuously identifying areas for commercial optimisation.

Specifically, you will manage tier 1 large-scale projects, typically worth multimillions, involving both public and private stakeholders. You will also identify new business development opportunities and seek to grow a portfolio of clients within the Major Projects division.

Additionally, you will:

- Maximise profitability across all major projects
- Support tendering and bidding processes
- Monitor budgets, forecasts and risk assessments
- Oversee stakeholder engagement and relationship management
- Ensure contract compliance and manage any commercial disputes

About You

To be considered as a Commercial Manager, you will need:

- Proven experience in tier 1 commercial management within construction
- A proactive approach with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Packages (particularly Excel and SharePoint)
- Strong project management skills, including planning, prioritising, troubleshooting and evaluating

Experience in the passive fireproofing or fit-out sectors would be beneficial to your application but is not essential.
