About the project:National Grid Electricity Transmission is delivering a vital infrastructure project to reinforce the electricity transmission network between Bramford Substation in Suffolk and Twinstead Tee in Essex. This major scheme involves the construction of a new overhead line and underground cable link, strengthening energy resilience and supporting the UK's transition to net zero.
Location:This is a hybrid role based at our Derby (Raynesway) office, withregular travel to the Bramford to Twinstead Reinforcement project, primarily supporting the project office in Ipswich. The role offers flexibility in line with Balfour Beatty's Smart Working policy, with a blend of office, site, and home-based working.
What you'll be doing
As a Commercial Manager, you'll have the following accountabilities;
Who we're looking for
Leading on collating costs and maximising value on a large project or portfolio of projects
Leading on and embedding a mindset within the team of financial and commercial control within a project(s)
Demonstration of Strategic Change Management
In-depth knowledge and experience of procuring and managing supply chain
Maintain a Personal Development Plan to ensure continuous personal and professional development
Already in possession of or working towards professional accreditation
Proactively develop, mentor and coach immediate and wider team members to ensure development of talent and succession within the team
Demonstration of working to deadlines including effective delegation, working efficiently and to a high standard
Excellent communication skills with all internal and external stakeholders
Keen interest and experience in infrastructure projects
Demonstration of resilience and determination to succeed (achievement focus)
Proactively manage opportunities, risks and threats
MSc in Quantity Surveying or equivalent level of education or experience

37.5-hour workweek (Monday to Friday)
