Balfour Beatty is looking for an experienced Commercial Manager to provide commercial leadership on the new Cambushinnie 400kV Substation project near Braco.

This is an opportunity to take a key role on the Accelerated Strategic Transmission Investment programme, supporting the upgrade and expansion of Scotland’s electricity transmission network and helping connect renewable energy generated in the north of Scotland with areas of demand across the country.

You will join a fast-moving, high-value infrastructure project involving complex civil engineering packages, multiple work fronts and significant commercial responsibility

About the Project

The proposed Cambushinnie 400kV Substation will be constructed immediately west of the existing Braco West 275kV Substation.

The project forms part of the wider upgrade of the Beauly–Denny overhead line from 275kV to 400kV and will provide the enhanced switching capability required to support Scotland’s growing renewable energy network.

The project includes:

• Haul road and access-track construction
• Major earthworks, cut-and-fill operations and formation works
• Heavy groundworks, drainage and utilities installation
• Substation platform construction
• Foundations and reinforced concrete structures
• Design and construction of a new control building
