Job summary

Build Recruitment is seeking an experienced Commercial Manager to join a growing contractor delivering social housing planned works, refurbishment and retrofit programmes from Swindon. This senior role oversees the commercial delivery of three large-scale contracts, leads a team of Quantity Surveyors and works closely with clients and supply chain to drive cost control, forecasting and profitability.

Strong knowledge of JCT/NEC or partnering contracts is preferred, MRICS or a relevant degree is

• MRICS or a relevant degree desirable; PAS 2035 experience is a plus.

Commercial Manager Social Housing Planned Works

Location: Swindon
Salary: 50,000 - 60,000
Type: Permanent

We are recruiting for an experienced Commercial Manager to join a growing contractor delivering major social housing planned works, refurbishment and retrofit programmes.

This is a senior role overseeing the commercial delivery of three large-scale contracts, while leading and developing a team of Quantity Surveyors.

Key Responsibilities of the Commercial Manager:

• Lead commercial delivery across multiple planned works contracts.
• Manage and develop a team of Quantity Surveyors.
• Drive cost control, forecasting, profitability and commercial performance.
• Manage procurement, subcontractors, valuations, variations and final accounts.
• Identify and mitigate commercial and contractual risks.
• Work closely with operational teams, clients and supply chain partners.
• Provide strategic commercial leadership and support business growth.

Projects Include

We are looking for a Commercial Manager / Senior Commercial professional with experience in:

• Social housing planned works
• Refurbishment or regeneration
• Retrofit / decarbonisation
• Residential construction
• Multi-site programmes

Strong knowledge of JCT, NEC or partnering contracts is preferred, along with proven experience managing commercial teams and improving financial performance.

MRICS or a relevant degree is desirable, as is PAS 2035 experience.
