Salary: £70,000 - £83,000 plus package including: Car / Allowance and benefits

Summary

A renowned construction and civil engineering contractor is seeking an experienced Commercial Manager to join their team in Essex to lead on the upgrade of one of Essex's busiest road junctions.

Duties

  1. Actively participate in the implementation of project commercial start up procedures across the region.
  2. Line management of the regional commercial team.
  3. Ensure that materials and off site services are procured in an efficient manner with capable organisations in accordance with Taylor Woodrow procurement policy and ensure appropriate records are kept.
  4. Prepare the basis of work package contents sheets and ensure the project team contribute and complete their relevant sections.
  5. Ensure inclusive invitations to tender are prepared and full tender evaluations are completed. Make recommendations to award, all in accordance with the VINCI procurement process.
  6. Work with supply chain to promote and measure continuous improvement in terms of cost, quality and learning of all parties.
  7. Maximise cash flow through timely preparation of valuations, submission of invoices and receipt of payment.
  8. Manage prompt preparation and settlement of final accounts, including variations, claims and disputes.
  9. Develop a strategy for concluding client negotiations.
  10. Review plant and equipment schedules to ensure efficiency of use.
  11. Produce accurate and timely CVR reports and forecasts and contribute toward the setting of financial targets.
  12. Identify early project risks and opportunities and ensure that they are managed.

Person Specification

  1. Formal qualification in quantity surveying or commercial management in a relevant sector.
  2. Previous experience managing commercial activities across multiple infrastructure projects at any one time.
  3. Experience working on NEC contracts is essential.
  4. Chartered or working towards chartership is advantageous.
