Job summary

Galliford Try is seeking a Commercial Manager to lead the commercial function on local authority infrastructure projects in Bedfordshire and beyond. The role focuses on cost control, financial performance, and robust commercial governance across major schemes.

You will manage budgets, forecasts, CVRs, and subcontract packages, administer NEC contracts, and drive risk management to maximise value while supporting project delivery with key stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Experience as Commercial Manager or Senior Quantity Surveyor in civil engineering or infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge of NEC contracts and change management.
• Experience managing budgets, commercial reporting and subcontract packages.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

The Opportunity

We are recruiting for a Commercial Manager to join Galliford Try, working on local authority infrastructure schemes, including one of the country's flagship infrastructure projects.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced commercial professional to play a key role in the delivery of major infrastructure works, taking responsibility for commercial performance, contract management and financial control.

Working alongside project delivery teams and key stakeholders, you will help ensure projects are delivered commercially successfully while managing risk, maximising value and maintaining robust contractual processes.

The position would suit a Commercial Manager with a strong civil engineering background who is comfortable operating in a client-facing environment and managing the commercial requirements of complex infrastructure schemes.

• Experience managing project budgets, commercial reporting and subcontract packages.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
• A proactive approach to managing commercial risk and driving project performance.
