Job summary

Contract Scotland is seeking a senior commercial professional to lead commercial and contract activities across major civil engineering, infrastructure and energy projects in Glasgow and beyond.

You will shape tender strategy, manage NEC contracts, oversee procurement, and drive cost reporting, risk and opportunity management while collaborating with clients, subcontractors and senior stakeholders.

A senior commercial opportunity with a leading Scottish civil engineering contractor

We're looking to speak with experienced commercial professionals who are ready for their next move within the civil engineering and infrastructure sector.

This is a broad opportunity, with the exact scope and level of responsibility shaped around the experience of the successful individual.

You'll work across major civil engineering, infrastructure and energy projects, providing commercial and contractual input from tender and pre-construction through to delivery.

The role

Depending on your experience, you'll be involved in:

• Commercial and contract management


• NEC contract administration and negotiation


• Procurement and tender strategy


• Commercial risk and opportunity management


• Early warnings, compensation events and change


• Client, subcontractor and supply chain negotiations


• Cost and commercial reporting


• Pre-construction and project mobilisation


• Claims and dispute avoidance


• Supporting project teams throughout delivery


• Developing commercial processes and best practice

For the right person, there is also the opportunity to take on a broader, business-wide contracts remit, working closely with senior leadership across multiple projects.

You'll have strong experience within civil engineering, infrastructure, utilities or major construction, with solid NEC experience and the commercial judgement to work confidently with clients, contractors and senior stakeholders.
