When you join us, you\'ll be part of a genuinely collaborative environment where everyone\'s voice is valued and treated equally. We\'re passionate about what we do, but we don\'t take ourselves too seriously. This is a great place to be. We\'re flexible with remote working policies designed to help you get the most out of life.

As a Commercial Manager in our Transportation Project Delivery Practice (PDP), you will have a vital, productive role with technical, people, stakeholder and management responsibilities. You\'ll define goals on our largest, high-profile projects as well as niche, local schemes. Join a friendly, diverse business where you\'ll be inspired and supported by talented colleagues. This role can be based at any regional office (circa 2-3 days per week) but may require occasional travel to sites or offices across the UK, to meet client and project team needs.

Responsibilities
  • Balance risk, opportunity and financial returns in both pre- and post- contract commercial management with a focus on in-year performance (revenue, cash and EBIT) and supporting growth in the market.
  • Provide oversight and commercial advice for preparation and negotiation of contract documentation including lump sum, target cost and re-measurable contracts.
  • Lead on development of PQQ/ITT and contractor evaluation processes to support clients in chosen procurement routes.
  • Interrogate and drive production of monthly PSR (CVR) and associated commercial reports such as Earned Value Management (EVM).
  • Develop and implement the commercial strategy on projects to maximise revenue and cash flow.
  • Set the standard and expectations for change control, contract management and claims/disputes.
  • Guide project teams on commercial risks and opportunities.
  • Interpret/input into contract programmes and schedules to identify risks and utilise commercial levers.
  • Mentor and manage junior members of the commercial team and promote visibility across offices and sites.
  • Ensure compliance with the Company Management System (CMS) and all AtkinsRéalis procedures; uphold company values and promote safety culture.
  • Contribute to wider market and divisional requirements as they arise.
  • Manage multiple internal and external stakeholders within project and business deadlines.
What you can bring
  • Track record of successful project delivery in a commercial management role, for either main contractor or consultancy in Transport, Water and Energy sectors.
  • Expert in contract management and change control.
  • Experience across a range of common Forms of Contract (particularly NEC & NEC PSC).
  • Ability to develop and implement procurement, supply chain and market management initiatives such as procurement strategies and alliancing agreements.
  • Understanding of procurement law and regulations.
  • Able to demonstrate leadership in solving problems and tackling challenges creatively.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail with ability to solve complex problems and mitigate risks.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication including report writing, presentations and contractual correspondence.
  • Experience of leading and motivating a team within a large-scale business/project environment.

You\'ll be helping us to improve our leading environmental performance while enabling others to do the same.
