If you re a Quantity Surveyor or Contracts Manager who feels ready for more than simply looking after your own projects, this could be a really interesting next step.
We re recruiting for an established specialist engineering business that is looking for someone to step into a broader Commercial Manager role with the opportunity to influence how the business manages contracts, commercial risk and profitability rather than simply inheriting an existing way of doing things.
You don t need to already be a Commercial Manager, nor do you need experience in their specific sector.
What matters is that you understand the commercial side of delivering contracted work, have experience working with NEC and JCT contracts, and are ready to take on more responsibility.
This is an opportunity to broaden your experience beyond a traditional QS or Contracts Manager position.
You ll work closely with senior leadership and gain exposure across two different areas of the business: major installation projects and a sizeable portfolio of recurring service contracts.
That means getting involved in everything from variations, claims and contractual risk through to pricing, profitability, commercial reporting and longer-term business strategy.
You ll have the autonomy to improve existing commercial processes and, importantly, a genuine opportunity to put the Commercial Manager title on your CV rather than waiting for somebody above you to move on.
You'll take responsibility for commercial performance across a mixture of project and service contracts, including:
Your current title isn't particularly important. You could currently be working as a QS, Project Surveyor, Contract Manager, Commercial Surveyor or in another commercially focused role within a contracting environment.
You will need:
Experience within utilities, energy, infrastructure, M&E, building services, facilities management or specialist contracting would be particularly useful, although we're open to other relevant construction and engineering backgrounds.
