We are working with a leading main contractor in the Industrial & Logistics (I&L) sector to recruit a Commercial Manager for a major project in Coventry. This is a confidential opportunity to join a business with a strong pipeline of large-scale new build schemes and a reputation for quality, efficiency, and commercial strength.

The successful candidate will play a key role in the delivery of high-value projects, overseeing all commercial aspects from pre-construction through to final account, and leading a team of quantity surveyors and commercial professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the commercial function on one or more large-scale industrial/logistics construction projects.
• Manage budgets, forecasts, cost planning, and financial reporting.
• Prepare and negotiate contracts, valuations, and variations.
• Work closely with project and site teams to ensure financial performance aligns with delivery targets.
• Monitor subcontractor performance and payments.
• Provide input into procurement strategy and oversee supply chain engagement.
• Ensure commercial compliance with contract terms and company policies.
• Support senior leadership with commercial risk management and reporting.
• Mentor and support junior commercial team members to develop capability and maintain standards.

What We’re Looking For:

• Proven experience as a Commercial Manager or Senior QS in a main contracting environment.
• Strong background in Industrial & Logistics projects (preferred).
• Sound knowledge of standard forms of contract and commercial processes.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
• Ability to lead teams and manage multiple commercial priorities simultaneously.
• Commercially astute with strong analytical and reporting capabilities.
• Relevant qualifications in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management.
