Job summary

Metropolitan Police Service is seeking an experienced Commercial Manager to lead complex technology procurement and sourcing activities, working with senior stakeholders to support strategic digital, cloud and AI programmes within a major public sector organisation.

You will manage end-to-end procurement delivery, oversee tender processes and contract awards, and drive value for money while ensuring compliance with public sector regulations and frameworks.

Qualifications

• Proven end-to-end procurement delivery experience.
• Strong technology sourcing background including software, cloud, digital and IT services.
• Experience leading procurement from market engagement through to contract award.
• Knowledge of public sector procurement regulations, including the Procurement Act 2023.
• Experience with multiple procurement frameworks and routes to market, not only G-Cloud.

Job description

We are currently seeking an experienced Commercial Manager to join the Metropolitan Police Service. This is an exciting opportunity to lead complex technology procurement and sourcing activities, work closely with senior stakeholders, and support the delivery of strategic digital, cloud and AI-related programmes within one of the UK's largest public sector organisations.

Key Details:

• Contract: Temporary, 6 months
• Rate: GBP650 per day (Umbrella)
• Location: London (NW6)
• Working Pattern: Hybrid (3 days onsite)
• Clearance: CTC/NPPV2 required
• Start Date: ASAP

Required Experience:

• Experience using a range of procurement frameworks and routes to market, not solely G-Cloud
• Excellent supplier negotiation and stakeholder management skills
• Demonstrable experience delivering commercial value, savings and risk mitigationAbility to manage multiple procurements within a fast-paced environment

Highly Desirable:

• Experience within Policing, Central Government, Defence or other regulated public sector environments
• Experience using CCS and other public sector frameworks
• CIPS, IACCM or equivalent commercial qualifications
• Experience supporting technology transformation or AI-focused programmes
