Job summary

V3 Recruitment Ltd is representing a five-star leading house builder seeking a Commercial Manager to join the new regional team in Basingstoke. You will lead the buying and surveying teams, manage budgets, and mentor senior staff while collaborating with Technical, Construction, Land, Sales and Architects.

The role reports to the Commercial Director and is based in the Southern Region covering Hampshire, Dorset, Wiltshire and West Sussex.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Commercial Manager for a house builder.
• Strong knowledge of Southern England regions (Hampshire, Dorset, Wiltshire, West Sussex).
• HNC in Building Studies or equivalent.
• RICS qualifications and/or a degree in Quantity Surveying.

Responsibilities

• Lead buying and surveying team on a day-to-day basis.
• Monitor budgets and cost control for new build developments.
• Mentor and recruit Buyers and Quantity Surveyors.
• Coordinate with Technical, Construction, Land, Sales & Architects teams.
• Provide estimates, budgets, forecasts and cost-control measures.

Job description

We are currently representing a five star leading house builder who have a fantastic opportunity for a Commercial Manager to join their brand new region and team in Basingstoke.

You will be joining the senior leadership team and will be a key part of developing the Southern Region covering the Hampshire, Wiltshire, Dorset And West Sussex areas.

The salary is up to £90,000 (depending on experience) plus a car allowance and fantastic benefits package. You will be reporting directly to the Commercial Director.

Key Responsibilities for this position include:

• Responsible for the leadership of the buying and surveying team on a day to day basis
• Monitor budgets and cost control for all aspects of the business on new build developments
• Effectively mentor, manage and recruit a team of Buyers and Quantity Surveyors
• Communicate and provide updatyes with other departments such as the Technical, Construction, Land, Sales & Architects
• Provide guidance to the team to produce accurate estimates, budgets, forecasts and cost control measures
• Produce accurate reports and presentations
• Monitor site performance against budgets and financial targets set

Key Skills & Qualifications for this position include:

• Experience as a Commercial Manager for a house builder

• HNC in Building Studies
• RICS Qualifications and/or a degree in Quantity Surveying
• Excellent Communication & negotiation skills
