Abacus Careers is seeking a Commercial Litigation Solicitor with a construction focus at junior to mid-level PQE to join a renowned disputes team. You will work on high-value disputes for corporates, developers, contractors, insurers, and public sector clients.

The role covers construction and engineering disputes, adjudications, arbitrations, High Court litigation, and disputes from standard contracts, offering hybrid/flexible working and clear career progression within a top-tier practice.

Qualifications

• Qualified Solicitor with 1–5 years PQE in Commercial Litigation.
• Experience in construction-related disputes or strong interest.
• Familiarity with litigation procedure and dispute resolution.
• Excellent drafting, analytical, and advocacy preparation skills.
• Strong organisational ability and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Direct experience of adjudication and/or arbitration proceedings.
• Technical understanding of construction projects or industry background.

Responsibilities

• Handle construction and engineering disputes (TCC matters).
• Manage adjudications, arbitrations, and High Court litigation.
• Work on disputes arising from JCT, NEC, and bespoke contracts.
• Assist with professional negligence claims involving construction professionals.
• Address delay, disruption, and defects claims.
• Contribute to general commercial litigation matters as needed.

Abacus is hiring a Commercial Litigation Solicitor (with a Construction focus) at junior to mid-level PQE to join a highly reputable firm with a highly regarded Disputes team. This is an excellent opportunity to work on complex, high-value disputes for major corporates, developers, contractors, insurers, and public sector clients.

The Role:

• Construction and engineering disputes (TCC matters)
• Adjudications, arbitrations, and High Court litigation
• Disputes arising from JCT, NEC, and bespoke construction contracts
• Professional negligence claims involving construction professionals
• Delay, disruption, and defects claims
• General commercial litigation matters.

About You:

A Qualified Solicitor with circa typically 1 to 5 years PQE in Commercial Litigation along with:

• Experience in construction-related disputes or a strong interest in specialising
• Familiarity with litigation procedure and dispute resolution processes
• Excellent drafting, analytical, and advocacy preparation skills
• Strong organisational ability and attention to detail
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Direct experience of adjudication and/or arbitration proceedings
• Technical understanding of construction projects or industry background
• Dual qualification is a bonus.
