Job description

Our Commercial Litigation team is looking for a Legal Assistant who is naturally approachable and keen to develop their career in litigation. Based in our Swansea office, you will gain hands‑on experience while working alongside experienced colleagues on a varied caseload.

About the Role

As a Legal Assistant, you will play an important part in supporting the team with the day-to-day progression of matters, while developing your own legal knowledge and practical experience.

Typical matters on which you will assist will include recoveries work, acting for fixed charge receivers and assisting with the sale of receivership properties, contractual disputes, shareholder disputes, insolvency matters, sports law and general civil litigation.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting case handlers with the day‑to‑day management and progression of matters
  • Preparing and organising correspondence and legal documentation
  • Liaising professionally with clients, solicitors and other third parties
  • Reviewing and organising documents and evidence
  • Carrying out legal research where required
  • Supporting with file management and other administrative tasks
  • Helping to ensure matters are progressed efficiently and clients receive a high standard of service

Previous property law (contentious or non‑contentious) experience would be an advantage.

If you are working towards qualification through the SQE route, relevant work undertaken as part of this role may be capable of counting towards your Qualifying Work Experience (QWE), where it meets the relevant requirements.

It is a role where you can gain practical experience, develop your understanding of litigation and learn from colleagues around you while making a genuine contribution to the team.

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Approachable – someone who builds positive relationships with clients and colleagues and enjoys being part of a team
  • Interested – curious, engaged and keen to learn, with a genuine interest in developing their legal knowledge
  • Real – authentic, down‑to‑earth and comfortable taking responsibility for their work
  • Organised, accurate and able to manage competing priorities
  • A confident written and verbal communicator
  • Proactive, with excellent attention to detail

Previous experience within a legal environment would be beneficial.
