Position: Commercial Lead – IT and Digital

Location: Kingston upon Hull (Hybrid Working)

Type: Permanent

Benefits: 30 days annual leave, flexible office attendance (initially 4 days/week, reducing to 1 day/week, and later twice a month)

The Role

Seeking an experienced Commercial Lead – IT and Digital to develop and implement innovative digital strategies supporting multiple partners in a shared service environment.

This role manages all aspects of Digital & IT procurement, contract management, supplier relations, and governance, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and maximizing value.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Developing and executing a Digital & IT Service Plan and Category Strategy
  • Leading procurement processes and contract negotiations for IT and digital services
  • Acting as subject matter expert for IT commissioning and supplier engagement
  • Ensuring contracts and services deliver value, impact, and continuous improvement
  • Engaging with stakeholders to understand needs and opportunities
  • Mentoring colleagues to enhance commercial and commissioning skills
  • Deputising for the Commercial Manager – Digital & IT as needed

Skills & Experience

  • Strong background in IT procurement, contract management, and commercial leadership in complex or public sectors
  • Knowledge of procurement legislation, frameworks, and best practices
  • Commercial acumen in IT markets, risk management, and value assurance
  • Experience managing supplier relationships and contract performance
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • CIPS Level 3 qualification or equivalent, with at least 5 years in IT purchasing or negotiations
