Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Lead – IT and Digital to develop and implement innovative digital strategies supporting multiple partners. This role manages digital & IT procurement, contracts, supplier relationships, and governance, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and value delivery.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• Leading the development of Digital & IT Service Plan and Category Strategy
• Managing procurement processes and contract negotiations for IT and digital services
• Serving as the subject matter expert for IT commissioning and supplier engagement
• Ensuring contracts and services deliver value, impact, and continuous improvement
• Engaging with stakeholders to understand needs and market opportunities
• Mentoring colleagues to build commercial and commissioning skills
• Deputising for the Commercial Manager – Digital & IT as needed

Skills & Experience

• Strong background in IT procurement, contract management, and commercial leadership in complex or public sectors
• Knowledge of procurement legislation, frameworks, and best practices
• Commercial acumen in IT supplier markets, risk, and value assurance
• Experience in supplier relationship and contract performance management
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• CIPS Level 3 qualification or equivalent (minimum 5 years in IT purchasing or contract negotiation)
