Job summary

FRONTrunner Recruitment Ltd is seeking a commercial catering equipment installation engineer for an established installer expanding its team. You will install full commercial kitchens and equipment across London and parts of Essex, handling gas, electrical, water, plumbing and commissioning on multi-week projects.

Salary 40-45k base with overtime for extended away-from-home hours, plus van, fuel card, phone, uniform and workplace pension; 20 days holiday + 8 bank holidays.

Qualifications

• Electrical experience with some qualification.
• Good plumbing and pipe work experience.
• COMCATs would be an advantage but are not essential.
• Experience installing commercial catering equipment.
• Experience fitting commercial kitchens or bathrooms is a good transferable skill.
• Physically fit due to lifting and site duties.

Responsibilities

• Install full commercial kitchens and catering equipment including gas, electrical, water and pipework.
• Work on new build and refurb projects for restaurants, care homes and hotels.
• Travel mainly in London with some work in Essex borders; long site commitments possible.
• Install equipment, connect plumbing and electricals, and commission systems.

Job description

A really good opportunity to work for an already well established commercial catering equipment installer who are going through a growth spurt. Very well liked in the industry and can could some very large catering companies as clients they sub for. The company’s main aim is to get continuous work from clients and fore that they always need to be doing a great job, and for THAT they need to be employing the best kind of engineers – engineers who take pride in their work.

Due to expansion they are recruiting for a commercial catering equipment installation engineer you will be

• Installing full commercial kitchens and commercial catering equipment - gas, electrical, water, plumbing and pipe work
• Working on new build and full refurb projects - restaurants, care homes, hotels etc
• Working most of the time in the London area with some work being in Essex borders
• Potentially working 2-3 nights away a year but that is the most if at all
• Installing the equipment and putting in the relevant connecting pipe or plumbing works as well as connecting electrical and commissioning the equipment
• Working on larger jobs so you could be on the same site for a week to 4 weeks at a time -travelling time to site and home are included in your 45 working hours per week

Skills needed to be a commercial catering equipment installation engineer

• Living anywhere in or around the north London, east London or Essex area
• Good electrical experience with some sort of qualification
• Good plumbing and pipe work experience
• Having COMCAT’s would be an advantage but is not essential
• Having experience installing any kind of commercial catering equipment would be very beneficial
• Experience fitting commercial kitchens, commercial bathrooms etc would be a good transferable skill
• Need to be fit and healthy as installing this equipment can involve some moderate lifting

Salary and Benefits of a commercial catering equipment installation engineer

• 40-45k basic salary depending on experience
• If you are out of the house for longer than 10 hours a day you will be paid overtime
