Job summary

Clark James Insurance Recruitment in Croydon invites applications for a Commercial account handler/sales adviser role. The position focuses on managing existing and new business client relationships in a primarily SME commercial market.

You will handle calls, prepare quotations, and drive new business with outbound activities. Candidates should have at least one year of general insurance experience, familiarity with FCA rules, and a good grasp of the UK insurance landscape.

Hybrid working. Clark James Insurance Recruitment are working with a fantastic and unique Insurance broker in the Croydon area with a modern office, great training and prospects and a lovely team to work with.

All the relevant skills, qualifications and experience that a successful applicant will need are listed in the following description.

They are looking to recruit experienced Commercial account handlers/sales advisors to help manage both existing and new business client relationships.

The majority of clients are commercial SME. You should have at least a year’s general insurance experience and ideally have used Acturis but this is not essential. You should also have an up to date knowledge of Financial Conduct Authority requirements including Treating Customers Fairly and an understanding of the UK Insurance market.

The Role

• Manage incoming sales and customer enquiry calls
• Produce and issue quotation & new business documentation
• Assist customers to protect their material assets and liabilities
• Follow up and convert leads as well as making outbound calls
• Achieve agreed sales targets, both individually and as part of the overall sales team
• To maintain, and achieve growth in, income from existing customers
• Developing and maintain positive ongoing relationships with Insurers and Underwriters
• Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of all products and services as to assist customers
